Fat Loss Made Simple
Eat Less Move More.
That rubbish went out the window years ago. Yes, ok, I concede: this may produce some short term improvement in body composition. Much the way annorexia will result in fat-loss. However, considering eating disorders - this approach will also lead to catabolism (break down) of essential nutrients such as proteins and fats important for cell structures so that your body can keep moving.
Furthermore and much more simply: if you eat less, eventually you're going to get hungry. And who wants to be hungry? So let's forget that and put that myth to bed once and for all.
Low calorie or calorie-controlled diets are unsustainable, unhealthy and you become unhappy. You've been lied to and it's got to stop.
The truth is it's all about environment.
Everything in life is about environment, environmental changes and adaptations of the organisms that live within that habitat. Darwinian evolution theory is just that - some animals adapted to the changes of the world over time, evolved, survived and thrived. Others just sat their, couldn't be bothered and died. This, as a side note, is a great microcosm of attitudes within society - do something about your weight and health, or don't and die. Simple.
So how does Darwin relate to fat-loss? It's easy. Your body is an environment that you exist in. Create a health habitat and thrive. Create a bad one and survive or die; whichever is worse, because afterall, if it's a choice of really living or just surviving, which one would you choose?
By creating a healthy environment we need to put good stuff in and to use our bodies. The human structure is an incredible thing and has unbelieveable potential. It is wrong of us not to take the opportunity to realise that. You don't have to run marathons or climb mountains but challenge yourself physically - whatever it is that you feel is a challenge - and grow as an individual as a result.
Back on track.
The good stuff you put in i.e. food and drink, ideally should be balanced with every serving to account for consistent internal fuelling, refuelling and rebuilding. Furthermore your body shouldn't treat your food and drink as toxic i.e. foods should not send the internal environment in to overdrive, trying to minimise the effect it has. That doesn't really sound healthy does it? it sounds like a lot of unneccessary effort and the result will be that you get tired. You'll feel sleepy and lethargic. A great example of this is the 3 oclock lull that follows the lunchtime sandwich. Wheat gets treated like sugar because of it's processing, blood sugar spikes, the pancreas has to work harder and overproduces insulin to get the sugar in to your cells then your blood sugar plummets. The result - a long, boring afternoon of battling a snooze.
We need to be mindful then of what we eat. Our diets should consist of fresh foods that aren't precooked, prepackaged or premade; colourful fruits and vegetables as a primary source of carbohydrate as opposed to starchy potatoes, breads and pastas; good fats from high quality oils (good coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, almond oil), nuts, seeds and fish; high qaulity meats that are as close to the source as possible e.g. beef from a good butcher. It's not rocket science!
Putting these foods together is really simple too. Think of how your granparents used to eat and how your parents ate. An evening meal often consisted of meat and two veg (behave). Why stop at two, have three, four, five or six veg. Load up and be happy. Eat as much veg as you want and enjoy it!
How does this realte to fat-loss?
Create a healthy environment with good food and exercise then your body will adapt very quickly. It will begin to get rid of the redundant fat and toxins that plague you and threaten your health by attracting illness and disease. Eat and behave like a lean, fit, healthy person and ultimately that is what you WILL become! I will personally guarentee you success by adopting this very simple, proven philosophy. I dare you to prove me wrong.
